How To Apply Vehicle Lettering:

  • Be sure the paint or window is clean & dry.
  • Put a drop (just 1 drop) of dishwashing detergent in a spray bottle full of water.
  • Spray the area you will install your vinyl lettering liberally.
  • Peel the backing away from the carrier paper (the backing is thicker). The carrier paper is like thick masking tape.
  • Now spray the sticky side of the vinyl lettering liberally.
  • Lay your vinyl lettering lightly into position. It's always a good idea to have someone help you.
  • Now is the time to be sure the vinyl lettering is straight, and the detergent/water combo will allow you to move them around.
  • Once you have it positioned the way you want, use a squeagy or credit card to start smoothing it out, from the center out (don't move carrier sheet yet). This will remove all the water on the backing and the air bubbles.
  • Now let sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the adhesive on the vinyl lettering to set.
  • Now carefully remove the carrier sheet from the vinyl lettering. Be sure not to peel off the edges of the lettering.
  • If you see any air bubbles still, just put the carrier sheet (upside down) back over the lettering and smooth out some more with the credit card or squeagy.
  • Done! If you ever want to take them off, simply heat with a hair dryer or heat gun. Once you get the bulk off, you can get any leftover adhesive out with WD-40 or Goo Gone.
