Easily Add Your Inventory To Your Blog Just Like This
Do you have a car dealer blog? Does your content frequently change ? Remember, the idea of a blog for car dealers is to get traffic pointing to your existing website, so you need to get some calls to action on there.
I will show you how Wordpress, Feed Burner, an RSS Feed and Wordpress Widgets will be your best friend. Follow these steps and you will have a successful auto blog in no time at all:
- Buy a decent keyword domain for at least 3 years. If you are a Ford Dealer in Chicago try to find chicagocardealerblog.com or something similar. Used cars are a great source of traffic, so perhaps chicagousedcarblog.com may be better. Do not buy anything but a .com, and don’t buy it for less than 3 years. (If you buy a domain for just one year you will be on probation with all the search engines because you will be suspected of being a spammer).
- Get A Wordpress Blog: Do not go to Wordpress and get a free one that they will host. Why? It will never be yours. Get your own hosting for $96.00 per year. Today’s hosting services have self installer where you can set up a complete blog in about 30 seconds. For more info, check this out.
- Go to Wordpress.com and find a good theme. There are many free Worpress themes out there. Install the new theme on your blog.
- Now let’s work on adding some Widgets (log in to your Wordpress backend and you will see many settings, including Widgets. If you’re using Facebook and Twitter log onto each and get your widget code. Copy and paste the code in each widget you set up.
- Find the location of your inventory RSS Feed. An example is this one: Park Automall RSS Feed
- Go to Feedburner and create your free account.
- Paste your RSS Feed url into the box to set up a feed.
- When you’re done click the “Publicize” Tab.
- Now Click “Buzzboost”
- Change the settings to your desire, then copy the JavaScript Code they create for you.
- Go to your Wordpress backend and create a new “Text Widget”
- Paste the code into the box, name accordingly and click save
- You now have an inventory widget on your blog that will automatically change as your inventory changes.
The coolest thing about Buzzboost is the fact that it converts the RSS Feed into HTML, so you can even put it on any webpage or blog post, and it will still update. You can even add Facebook and Email to a Friend links. Just like this:
