Tornado In North Lakeland Off West Campbell Rd?

May 23rd, 2009 Mike 1 comment

I heard a big commotion during the storm today in Lakeland Florida. I saw the Fire Department heading down Ashley Estates, so I took a ride. I did see pieces of that fence all over the place, including my yard about a quarter mile away. Looks like a fence got taken away:

PAWS Printing Is always Looking For Sponsors to help with the lettering costs

PAWS Printing in Lakeland Florida is please to announce the final touches being put on Stonewall Steve’s 1986 Monte Carlo. We should all see him racing this Saturday night at the Auburndale Speedway, but he is stressing that it will be just a “dog and pony show”. His mission is to stay towards the back and simply feel out the track to develop some strategies for the next week of racing.
Stonewall has been out of racing for a while, but he’s back! Come to the Auburndale Speeday this Saturday to check him out.

Stonewall, Melody and family would like to thank AM PM Door Repair Service and Stingray Chevrolet for helping out with the lettering!

New 7-11 North Lakeland Robbed By This Guy

New 7-11 North Lakeland Robbed By This Guy

I know the other night I could hear the Polk County Sheriffs Department’s Helicopter looking for something. Today I heard the new 7-11 store was robbed the other night. I did not get any details, but I heard one guy got caught and the police are looking for the second.

It’s a shame we only have the Ledger for a newspaper in Lakeland, and they obviously dropped the ball on this one.

Update: OK, I just got this from the Polk County Sherriff’s Website:

Polk County Sheriff’s Robbery detectives are seeking information about an armed robbery that occurred at the 7-11 store located at 2993 Duff Road in Lakeland on Sunday, April 26, 2009.

Around 9:30 p.m. that evening, an unknown white male suspect entered the store and approached the counter. He immediately pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, the suspect fled east on foot toward Duff Road.

The robbery was captured on video surveillance and a photo of the suspect can be seen here. The suspect is described as a white male in his early to mid-20s, 5’10”-6’0” tall, 180-200 lbs, with a medium build, wearing a black hooded sweater that says “Ace of Spades” on it, a black hat, and blue jeans.

If anyone has information about this incident they are urged to contact Detective Gus Aguirre at 863.534.6379 or 1.800.226.0344.

It’s OK Ledger, I got this one.

Plane Makes Emergency Landing – Live Video Inside Cockpit Winter Haven Florida

I’d have to say this pilot did very well and he didn’t panic (sorry it doesn’t fit well):

There happened to have been a camera man inside filming from 2 different cameras. The footage shown is from you tube but Front Page Productions deserves all the credit.
