I know the other night I could hear the Polk County Sheriffs Department’s Helicopter looking for something. Today I heard the new 7-11 store was robbed the other night. I did not get any details, but I heard one guy got caught and the police are looking for the second.
It’s a shame we only have the Ledger for a newspaper in Lakeland, and they obviously dropped the ball on this one.
Polk County Sheriff’s Robbery detectives are seeking information about an armed robbery that occurred at the 7-11 store located at 2993 Duff Road in Lakeland on Sunday, April 26, 2009.
Around 9:30 p.m. that evening, an unknown white male suspect entered the store and approached the counter. He immediately pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, the suspect fled east on foot toward Duff Road.
The robbery was captured on video surveillance and a photo of the suspect can be seen here. The suspect is described as a white male in his early to mid-20s, 5’10”-6’0” tall, 180-200 lbs, with a medium build, wearing a black hooded sweater that says “Ace of Spades” on it, a black hat, and blue jeans.
If anyone has information about this incident they are urged to contact Detective Gus Aguirre at 863.534.6379 or 1.800.226.0344.
It’s OK Ledger, I got this one.
